In the afternoon of 2 July 2021, the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto and the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita via video connection, the Governor of the Riau Islands Ansar Ahmad came to the location and attended the opening ceremony for the alumina shipment from PT.BAI. Company leaders Santony, Jia Zhenjiang, Hao Weisong and others also welcomed.

Due to the pandemic period, all guests and personnel attending the ceremony wore masks, took temperature measurements and electronic disinfection, and entered the venue in an orderly manner. The event officially started at 16.00 pm with the sound of lively music.

The company's leadership first of all conveyed warm welcome and sincere thanks to the governor and his staff. He also said that PT.BAI made every effort to promote the construction and operation of the project. The successful production of alumina powder means that the construction and development of projects have taken solid steps, and will also effectively promote local economic and social development in Indonesia, while promoting cooperation between Indonesia and China, and Economic cooperation will continue to play an active role in promoting Indonesia's economic development .

The Governor of the Riau Archipelago Province, Ansar Ahmad thanked the company for the warm welcome. Initially, the economy of the Riau Archipelago Province was negative due to the impact of the pandemic. We express our gratitude to PT.BAI which has driven the rate of economic growth in Bintan, Riau Islands. Now the company has realized an investment of around 1.4 trillion rupiah, and will continue to grow in the future. The Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlanga Hartato in his remarks said that even though in a severe pandemic situation, we still see hope today, namely that PT.BAI succeeded in exporting alumina for the first time, which is a major event that should be congratulated. Galang Batang SEZ is the fastest growing SEZ, we especially appreciate PT.BAI and thank PT.BAI for opening more than 4,000 jobs for the local community. It is hoped that the construction of the second phase of the project can be completed as soon as possible, and at the same time, the local government continues to provide strong support for obtaining permits and other aspects.
